Rogers Corporation, a global leader in the development and manufacture of high performance engineered materials, including plate mounting tapes for the narrow web printing industry, has received two awards recently from the Chinese government. The first award, Level A Credit Company for Labor Security, was given to Rogers for its labor compliance and positive management of its employees. The award is based on Rogers having met or exceeded labor compliance during the last two years, including support of the local Chinese labor union and the high audit scores Rogers received related to labor compliance audits. Only 132 companies of the 17,000 doing business in the Suzhou Industrial Park received the Level A award. Suzhou Industrial Park is a planned industrial, commercial and residential community where thousands of companies, including many of the largest corporations in the world, have established facilities. The second award, Jiangsu Provincial May 1, 2010 Honorary Labor Medal, was given to Rogers’ vice president of Asia, Michael Sehnert, by the Jiangsu Labor Union Bureau for outstanding performance, achievement and contribution to society in Jiangsu Province. Nomination of Sehnert was made by the Suzhou Industrial Park where Rogers’ main campus in China is located. “These awards mean a great deal to Rogers Corporation and we are sincerely thankful for the recognition they afford us,” commented Robert D. Wachob, president and CEO. “They express the feelings of our Chinese hosts that Rogers and its employees and management are viewed positively and in very good standing by the Suzhou Industrial Park, the local government and the Jiangsu provincial government. Forging an enduring presence and partnering with local businesses, and communities has always been the path to success for global companies operating in China.” Rogers Corporation (NYSE: ROG), headquartered in Rogers, CT, USA, manufactures specialty-material-based products for a variety of applications in diverse markets including: portable communications, communications infrastructure, computer and office equipment, consumer products, ground transportation, aerospace and defense. Rogers operates manufacturing facilities in the United States (Arizona, Connecticut and Illinois), Europe (Ghent, Belgium, and Bremen, Germany) and Asia (Suzhou, China, and Ansan, South Korea).
